Petra is AIM’s largest diamond group by market capitalisation, a reflection of the successful implementation of the business strategy to develop a truly independent diamond mining group of global significance.

Petra’s rapid development has been as a result of identifying mines that we believe can be turned to account and deliver value to both shareholders and stakeholders. We have completed a number of acquisitions, buying some of the more ‘marginal’ assets in De Beers’ portfolio. Petra’s approach is to optimise recoveries, simplify the process route and restructure the cost base to maximise margins at such assets, and this strategy is effective in returning positive cash flows to the Group.

In the longer term Petra’s strategy is to continue to grow production, both through further possible acquisitions and the continued development of our existing mine portfolio where there is considerable upside for expansion.
